- BE/B Tech/ME/M Tech equivalent in CS/IS/IT with CGPA of 7/10 (70%) or above.
- 1 to 5 years of experience.
- From the campuses where Oracle go for campus hire (IITs/IISc, NIT Karnataka, Warangal, Calicut, Trichy, MNNIT, BITS Pilani/Goa/Hyd, BIT Mesra, IIIT Hyd/Blr, RVCE, Anna University, IGIT)
- Good Programming/Problem solving skills

Department Description : The SOA Test Development Team (SOA QA) in India participates in all of the critical test development activities of the SOA Product Suite including understanding of the new SOA features, designing the test cases, test development ,automation & testing, integration and release of highest quality SOA products. We are hiring strong candidates for SOA Suite (BPEL, Mediator, BAM, Adapters, ), SOA Goverance Suite (Enterprise Repository, Service Registry, and SOA Suite) Test Development teams in our India Development Center (IDC) Bangalore Team.

Brief Posting Description:
This position is for a Senior Member Technical Staff / Project Lead  / Principal Member Technical Staff role to be involved in functional features validation of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) suite of products that is part of Oracle Fusion Middleware.

Detailed Description:
The job entails development and execution of functional/integration test plans for the product suite across releases. You will be building test applications, which mirror Fortune 500 customers’ applications. Working with automation frameworks and ongoing automation of test cases is also a part of deliverables. It requires a special focus on product usability, lifecycle and interoperability aspects with internal and external products/technology of the integration space.  Requires close coordination with several functional QA and Development teams as well as the Product Managers and System Engineers.
The job requires working with state of the art latest technologies (SOA, SCA, BPEL, BPM, Web Services, J2EE, BAM, CEP, Adapters etc.) and various industry standards in the integration space. It also entails working with other products in the Fusion Middleware Stack such as OWSM (Oracle Web Services Manager), JDeveloper (Design time tool), OID (Oracle Identity Management), Security features, Oracle Applications (Financials, CRM, Manufacturing etc.).
Job Requirements:
  • Good understanding of computer science fundamentals i.e. Operating System, Databases, computer architecture, Unix/Linux/Windows Programming, Shell Programming, , Java, C/C++, PERL, SQL etc.
  • Good exposure to J2EE, XML, Web Services, WSDL, SOAP is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to integration patterns and J2EE design patterns is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices.
  • Good understanding of Standard Testing Methodologies – JUnit, Jprobe, ANT etc.
  • Exposure to automation tools and technologies, Source Control systems.
  • Understanding of standards in the Webservices, UI and Security space an added advantage.
Additional Details:
Ø     * Experience : Overall experience of 4-12 years in a reputed Enterprise Software Product Company.
    * Good communication and excellent soft skills are required to become a global team player.

Details on the opening:
I have openings in my team working on test development for Flashback, Recovery, Compression features of RDBMS, Oracle Exadata Storage and Oracle Clusterware.
My team need to develop tools/ framework and test applets/scripts and automate the test setup needed for the features of Oracle Kernel we are testing.
The features we test can be exercised only through some level of programming as we are testing the database itself and not the application developed on top of it.

The opening is for an individual contributor position, though, at a later point you may have a small team depending on the complexity of the features you work on.
In this position, you will be working very closely with the feature development team to develop a test plan/infrastructure needed for the feature. You will also be reviewing the feature specifications (Functional & Design spec) before it is finalized as your inputs from a customer perspective might be important in the implementation.

What we need:
- Sound knowledge in Clustering concepts OR RDBMS Concepts OR Storage Concepts
- Sound knowledge in SQL/PLSQL is very desirable
- Programming experience with C/C++ OR Core Java OR Perl
- Working experience with any of the commonly used databases - Oracle / DB2 / MSSqlServer / MySql etc

- Experience with a scripting language like Perl/Python is desirable
- Experience in working with Oracle Database is highly desirable
- Experience in working with Unix/Linux platform, knowledge of shell scripting is desirable
- Experience in JUnit / Jython / Mock objects will be an advantage
